Good idea for a list. Everyone’s opinion changes. I would have gone with:
    1. John Goodman
    2. Alec Baldwin
    3. Christopher Walken
    4. Tom Hanks

    I personally don’t get Justin Timberlake’s appeal.
I think you gotta go with Alec Baldwin, Christopher Walken and Steve Martin in the top 3. Those are the only three with an open invite.

I think Jim Carrey was a real treat both times he hosted and Tina Fey

Also, I think Rob De Niro was surprisingly good for a famously introverted personality.
Also, Danny DeVitto has hosted a couple times

I wrote above about Tina Fey’s and Amy Poehler’s talent in my post above

Anne Hathaway has hosted SNL twice, and she has been consistently wonderful both times She easily pulled-off the impressions of Judy Garland, Katie Holmes , and Mary Poppins. Anne’s charisma, comedic chops, stage presence, and incredible impressions set her apart from most of the best SNL hosts. Hathaway deserves to be on this list.

Left out Ben Affleck. Say what you want about the guy, he does an awesome SNL host job.

Jason Priestly as host was fantastic when he was on a skit with “DIETER” ( Mike Myers) and playing the “Dating Game Show”. He asked the late Phil Hartman who was dressed in drag, “What would our first date be like?” Hartman answered. “I would knock you down and tie you up and force you to drink Anti-freeze and you would wake up the next day with a size seven poop chute !!!……..LMFAO

I would also put Garth Brooks as a great host as well. I always thought of him as the Country Music Singing superstar that he is. But he can pull off doing comedy just as well.

I did love and remembered the episode when Jason Priestly hosted. One of the funniest skits that I have ever seen was Priestly on the “Dieter Show” (You know Mike Myers when he stretches out the top of shirt and says “I am as happy as a little girl”). The skit was a spoof on The Dating Game. The late Phil Hartman was dressed in drag and was Contestant # 2. Priest, in a German voice asks Hartman “What would you do with me if we had a date together ??” Hartman replies by saying “I will take you, tie you down, force you to drink anti-freeze and you would wake up in the morning with a size 7 Poop-Chute !”
