We’ll bet that half of you reading this thought that when you were younger, if you played enough video games eventually Sony, Nintendo or Sega would call you and ask you to play video games for money. It’s only natural, but as you got older we’ll guess that you eventually grew out of that mindset. Well we’re here to tell you that you may have been hasty to give up on your dream so easily, because we know of at least one game out there that if you play enough, you can get an actual job doing it. Gran Turismo.
Gran Turismo is marketed as a driving simulator, few people realise however just how accurate that phrase is. For example, if you play the game hard enough and with enough finesse you can actually be invited to attend GT Academy, where they will hone your skills to the point you’ll urinate polygons and fart motor oil (paper towels are plentiful for this exact reason). This isn’t just some souped up course where they let you play the game on a giant TV or something, the GT Academy is so effective at training people how to be a boss at racing, that graduates have gone on to become actual race car drivers.
So the next time you’re playing some Playstation and your parent or significant other tells you to cut it the hell out, just remind them that if you play it hard enough, they could be talking to a future race car driver, and that they’re legally allowed to run people over and get away with it. They’ll leave you alone then.
