Ten years can happen in a flash. It sure seems to pass a little faster with each year you get older, doesn’t it? We were curious to find out who were the most popular women being searched for just a mere 10 years ago in 2003. Would the Internet, and the men doing the majority of the searching with Google, still be looking for these female celebrities, musicians, athletes and actresses? The simplest way to find out was to check Google Zeitgeist, located here (The term “zeitgeist” comes from the German “Zeit” meaning “time” and “Geist” meaning “spirit”. The term is defined in English by Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate® Dictionary as “the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era.”). You can look back as far as 2001 to see what search topics were popular each month of each year and also find a year-end list of the most popular searches.
Feel free to check it out later, but for now take a trip back to the past as we feature the most searched for females of 2003. You will be pleasantly surprised to find most of these lovely ladies are still a semi-hot commodity and will most likely be highly searched for in 2013, just maybe not in the top 10. Of course, just including their names would be a slap in the face, so I have chosen a photo of each personality (hopefully circa 2003) and then a group of photos that Google has provided (also hopefully circa 2003). I tried to showcase only images that would have been showing in 2003, but there may be a few more recent images provided by the Google image search. You will certainly see younger faces for the most part in the group photos.
And before our international readers (thanks for stopping by) get upset by the results, keep in mind this is information from Google tracking worldwide searches. If you have an issue with the top 10 searched for women list, contact Google. Don’t shoot the messenger.
In our efforts to be equal opportunity exploiters, next week we will focus on the men. Without further delay we start with…

So this is what people were spanking to ten years ago? Half of these chicks arent even hot anymore and Angelina Jolie never was
who would have thought that at this time in 2003, that Britney would lose her sanity and Christina would actually gain hers back…quite a role reversal for the two most popular teen pop stars of the late 90’s
I sure didn’t. Was that the women most Google’s in 2007.
Not only was Britney the most searched for female, she was also the most searched for phrase on Google. As in no search term was searched for more than “Britney Spears” – she was it. The top, the most, and #1 searched for anything in the world in 2003. Now that is being popular from an all-world view. Don’t believe me? http://www.google.com/intl/en/press/zeitgeist2003.html
Who didn’t expect to see spears #1?
Me.
